Exactly what it takes…
PURPOSE AND MISSION
A practical obstacle should never be the reason someone can't take part.
Stichting Everyday Heroes is an ANBI foundation (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, a Dutch public benefit organisation), operating under the name Everyday Heroes. To be designated an ANBI, an organisation must meet a number of conditions. For instance, Everyday Heroes spends 90% of its income on the public good. ANBI status is granted by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst). An ANBI foundation may not make a profit from activities that serve the public interest.
Stichting Everyday Heroes enables employers to contribute to the concrete placement of candidates who are far removed from the labour market. The value of an Impact Package goes straight into a fund and is used to remove the last (financial) obstacles, so the candidate does land that contract.

Board of the foundation
Chair: Arie-Paul Eijkelenboom
"Good governance is about taking responsibility for social impact. Everyday Heroes does exactly that, with transparency, collaboration and demonstrable results."
Treasurer: Ernst-Jan Minnema
"I like to support initiatives that actually do things. Concrete help into work. People with a name and a story. You see exactly where the contribution goes and what effect it has."
Secretary: Marcel Bechger
"Everyday Heroes makes 'helping each other' concrete, and gives everyone who takes part the numbers as well. The warm side and the business side. That's why it works."

HOW IT WORKS
Everyday Heroes connects people, organisations and resources.
With one goal: making sure practical barriers are never the reason someone can't take part.
-
A resident wants to work, learn, start a business or take part in the neighbourhood. The motivation is there.
-
A practical barrier is blocking the last step. Schemes and budgets don't offer a way out.
-
A support worker, employer, caseworker or other professional knows the situation and submits an application.
-
With a laptop, a bike, a driving licence, a certificate or whatever other provision is needed to help someone straight away. Quick, personal and targeted: we assess the application quickly and make sure someone gets what they need to move forward.
-
The practical barrier is solved. Someone can start working, a course, a business or taking part.
-
More self-worth, income and prospects. Someone matters again, to themselves, their family, their employer, the municipality and society.
