The story of Jeremy

When Jeremy approached Kirsten from RSD de Liemers, he was eager to find employment in a paid position, expressing a desire to "work with his hands". Having just completed practical education, he was determined not to spend entire days at home but to contribute meaningfully. His dream was to learn a trade and showcase his talents.

Through VLOWW, with coach Mark's guidance, Jeremy connected with the employer Schilderswacht and Opstap. Here, like all other employees, he is someone who matters, someone who is recognized. Jeremy feels comfortable and enjoys going to work; he now works a full 40 hours per week.

Residing in the remote area of Lobith, Jeremy's workplace is more than 25 km away. Until recently, he commuted on an old bike with various issues. Despite the challenges, he never complained, though it was clear that this situation couldn't be sustained indefinitely. Kirsten, his case manager, then arranged for an electric bike for him.

Now, Jeremy commutes electrically, covering over 25 km each way from home to work and back. Regardless of the weather conditions, Jeremy doesn't mind, as he genuinely loves going to work!
